Marshfields School

A Positive Choice

Enrichment and the whole School Community

Food club is on after school once a week for Year 11. This gives our GCSE students an opportunity to continue with their learning in a more relaxed environment. Helped with a deserved cuppa!

Food lessons are devised to help the wider community. During lessons Year 7 students have raised money for Comic Relief with the sale of Red Nosed themed dishes. Students also produced Valentine biscuits for the homeless people of Peterborough. In one student’s words “we want them to know that students are thinking about them and that they will get at least a biscuit for Valentines”. Year 10 students provided mince pies for the Salvation Army at Christmas for an old people’s party. Year 8 students during their ‘bread’ work have for 2 years produced bread for the Harvest of Talents display table.

We have been very successful over a number years at The Peterborough Telegraph Education Awards. Most years Food students have either won or been highly commended in the Design and Technology Category. The most recent winner was in December 2015.
