Pupils from Invention house worked with staff to re-create a memory of the various D-Day Landings, as a scale model.
We used laser cut kits made in DT, building materials and team work to create this tribute to the many 100s of 100s of people we owe such a debt to from that time. It was a proud and memorable achievement for all involved.
Our friends at BGL HQ in Orton invited us to set up a stall in their staff cafe. We took a group of year9 and 10 students and all our finished and priced products.
We had a great day at BGL. The staff were very friendly and liked our products. Most students sold at least one of their products, some sold many. Top sales person and overall profit maker in yr9 was Rebecca. Students were able to keep 50% of the profits they made after costs. This was a very valuable life lesson for them. They understood that their skills have a value and how to react to what customers tell you they want to buy.
We took our products to BGL and set up a table stall in their staff cafe. They were pleased to see us and we sold lots of jewellery and cutlery.
We met the Meerkats.
